Order Processing Fee Now Required for Select CGFNS Services

Beginning on January 1, 2007, CGFNS began charging an Order Processing Fee of $50 for select CGFNS services, in addition to the published application fee. The Order Processing Fee defrays operational cost increases associated with energy, transportation, mail services, electronic record management, and technology enhancements for the secure transmission of documents.

The Order Processing Fee is non-refundable and needs to be paid within 60 days of application, in addition to the published application fee for the associated CGFNS service.

The Order Processing Fee applies to the following services:

• VisaScreen^® Initial Certificate (valid for five years)
• VisaScreen^® Renewal Certificate
• Certification Program: Initial Applicant: CGFNS Qualifying Exam, Credentials Review, English Language Proficiency
• Credentials Evaluation Service: Full Education Course-by-Course Report
• Credentials Evaluation Service: Healthcare Profession & Science Course-by-Course Report
• Credential Verification Service for New York State (CVS)

2007 Certification Program (CP) Qualifying Exam Dates

The deadline for internationally educated registered nurses who wish to take the July 11, 2007 Certification Program Qualifying Exam of nursing knowledge, required for licensure in the majority of U.S. states, is April 11, 2007.

In honor of its 30th anniversary, CGFNS is developing an 18-month photo calendar featuring successful internationally-educated healthcare professionals working in the United States. To nominate an individual for this recognition, please fax the individual's name, contact information, and brief summary of accomplishments to 215-495-0277, attention 2007-2008 Calendar Project by February 15, 2007. The 2007 Versions of the CGFNS/ICHP Program Handbooks and Applications Will Be Available in February 2007

The Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools and its division, the International Commission on Healthcare Professions (ICHP) will release the 2007 Versions of its downloadable and printed program handbooks and applications in February, 2007. Following the release of the 2007 handbooks and applications, all downloadable and printed applications thereafter submitted to CGFNS/ICHP in 2007 will be required to be the 2007 version.

Please note: CGFNS no longer accepts or processes faxed, mailed, or in-person (walk-in) study material orders which require manual processing. All faxed and mailed orders that have been received and not yet processed will be returned to those customers.
