CGFNS International Advertises in the Philippines, India, the United States and Peru

CGFNS is advertising its Qualifying Exam for registered nurses in the following international and United States newspapers and journals: Manila Bulletin, Philippine Star, Philippine Daily Inquirer, Via Times, Weekend Balita, Filipino Reporter, Times of India, New Indian Express, Malayala Manorama, Nursing Journal of India, India Abroad-Eastern U.S. Edition, India Tribune-New York Edition, and Indian Reporter (New York). In addition, CGFNS flyers printed in English and Spanish are being distributed in Lima, Peru. The ads and flyers feature information about the CGFNS Qualifying ExamSM for internationally educated nurses.

Nurses who pass the CGFNS Qualifying ExamSM are some of the most highly recruited candidates for practice in the USA and abroad.

2006-2007 Certification Program (CP) Qualifying Exam Dates

The deadline is approaching for internationally educated registered nurses who wish to take the September 20 Certification Program Qualifying Exam of nursing knowledge, required for licensure in the majority of U.S. states. The deadline for the September 20 Exam is June 21 for new applications and July 19 for re-applications.

Four New Supplements to the Official CGFNS Study Guide Now Available for Purchase

The Official Study Guide for the CGFNS Qualifying ExamSM is currently in its 5th edition of printing. Certification Program applicants receive the Study Guide FREE with their initial application and payment of fees.

Applicants have told CGFNS they want additional study materials with more in-depth focus on each of the four major areas of nursing in the United States.

CGFNS is pleased to announce that four additional mini guides or supplements to the Official Study Guide are now available for purchase.

The publications: Adult Health Nursing, Maternal/Infant Nursing, Nursing of Children, and Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing, can be purchased for the price of $20 each or $60 for the set of four.

2006 CGFNS/ICHP Program Handbooks and Applications Now Available

The Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools and its division, the International Commission on Healthcare Professions (ICHP) has updated its program handbooks and applications for 2006. Be sure to use the 2006 versions for all new applications going forward.

Along with other timely updates, applicants will notice that the applications are now part of the handbook for each service.

CGFNS Announces New Pricing for its Certification Program, Credentials Evaluation Service, VisaScreen® Program, and Ancillary Services

The Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS International) has announced a new pricing structure for three of its core services and several ancillary services. Applications for the Certification Program, Credentials Evaluation Service, VisaScreen® Certificate and ancillary services received on May 1, 2006 and thereafter will be charged according to the new fee structure. CGFNS Also Announces Policy Changes for Length of Time Applications May Remain Open, Time Limit for Receipt of Payment, and Refunds

Effective May 1, 2006, applicants applying for the CGFNS Certification Program, Credentials Evaluation Service and VisaScreen® will be given 12 months to meet the requirements of each program. Orders for these three services that have not resulted in the rostering of an applicant to take the Qualifying Exam for the Certification Program, that have not resulted in the issuing of a Credentials Evaluation Service report, or that have not resulted in the issuing of a VisaScreen® Certificate within 12 months of the application date will be closed.

ONLINE APPLICATION STATUS CHECKING

Did you know you can check your status online at www.cgfns.org? The CHECK YOUR STATUS link is available to you 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You will be prompted to enter your user name and password. The Check Your Status feature lists the requirements of your application and the status of documents received or waiting to be received.

Here is a list of everything you can do through the CHECK YOUR STATUS ONLINE:

  • check the progress of your application
  • change your contact information
  • submit your educational and professional information to CGFNS for certification and/or verification
  • purchase CGFNS products or services
  • choose the location and date of your Qualifying Examination
  • view your Qualifying Exam scores online, in addition to being able to see your pass/fail status
  • pay for CGFNS services with your credit card


Additional Automatic Email Notifications

CGFNS has added two additional email notifications to applicants to inform them of the status of their application. For international VisaScreen® applicants, if there is a valid email address on file with CGFNS, we will email you the tracking number when your certificate is mailed. Applicants can then track the certificate directly with the express carrier.

For applicants for the Certification Program, CGFNS will send an email or letter to applicants who have passed all requirements for the Certification Program except the English Proficiency requirement. This notice will serve as a reminder to applicant to be sure to schedule themselves to take one of the approved tests for English Proficiency and have the testing company send the results directly to CGFNS.
