2003 News CGFNS Announces Dates and Deadlines for the 2004 Qualifying Exams PHILADELPHIA, PA — AUGUST 26, 2003 — The Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS) has announced the dates of its Qualifying Exam for 2004. The dates and deadlines are as follows:
All applicants are reminded that in order to obtain a CGFNS Certificate, they must pass both the CGFNS Qualifying ExamSM and an English language proficiency exam. For the English language proficiency exam, applicants will have the option to take either the TOEFL (administered by ETS), the TOEIC (administered by ETS), or the IELTS (administered by Cambridge ESOL Examinations, the British Council, and IDP Education Australia). The organization was founded in 1977 through a collaborative effort by representatives from the U.S. Department of Labor; Department of Health, Education and Welfare (now the Department of Health and Human Services); and the Immigration and Naturalization Service; along with representatives from nursing organizations, including the American Nurses Association and the National League for Nursing.
