CGFNS opens exam center in Mumbai, India, for November 2005 exam
The Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS) is pleased to announce that it is opening an exam center in Mumbai, India to conduct the CGFNS Qualifying ExamSM for nurses in India. The exam center will be open for the 9 November 2005, exam. The deadline for applying is 10 August 2005.
CGFNS administers its exam four times each year for first level, general nurses educated outside the United States, who wish to practice nursing in the United States. The exams are offered at over 40 locations worldwide in March, July, September and November. The November 2005 exam marks the first time the exam will be administered in Mumbai, which is the fourth site opened in India. Additional sites are operational in Bangalore, Cochin and Delhi.
The exam center in Mumbai will be open for the November 2005 exam and all exams thereafter. The exam center number for the Mumbai location is 853. Applicants wishing to sit for the November 2005 exam in Mumbai, India, or any exam thereafter, should designate the exam center 853 on their Certification Program application.
Forty U.S. states require that foreign-educated nurses pass the CGFNS Qualifying ExamSM before they will be authorized to sit for the NCLEX-RN® examination (the U.S. national licensure exam for registered nurses).
