State Boards of Nursing

The requirements for obtaining a license to practice as a nurse differs in each U.S. state and may change without notice. Please contact the board of nursing in the state where you wish to practice to obtain the latest information and to verify current licensure requirements.

Note: For applicants that have been licensed by a U.S. State Board of Nursing in the states of Colorado, Georgia, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, there is no need to send a Request for License/Registration/Diploma form to any of these states to complete. CGFNS will validate your nursing license for these states through NCSBN’s Nursys service.
