National Nurse Practitioner Week 2020

Sponsored by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, National Nurse Practitioner Week is held November 8-14 to celebrate the countless contributions of Nurse Practitioners to healthcare and raise awareness around ways to improve their ability to practice to the full extent of their experience and education.

According to the WHO’s State of the World’s Nursing Report 2020, at least 78 countries have advanced practice nursing roles, of which the most common are nurse practitioners, with the number of masters in nursing programs and nurse practitioners growing around the world. Given their broad clinical scope, adequately trained nurse practitioners are highly effective at providing quality healthcare, enhancing access to healthcare in rural areas and for vulnerable populations, and improving patient satisfaction, the Report found.
