It is with pride and joy that CGFNS International, Inc. shares the celebratory news that on December 7, 2015, its Chief Executive Officer, Franklin A. Shaffer, EdD, RN, FAAN, was awarded the prestigious title of Ad Eundem Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.
Ad Eundem Fellows are awarded by the Faculty to persons holding Fellowships of other Faculties or Colleges or equivalent qualifications recognized by the Council and who are in the bona fide practice of their profession. It has been resolved by the Council that Election to the Fellowship of the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery Ad Eundem shall be a restricted privilege.
Michael R. Bleich, PhD, RN, FAAN, President of the Board of Trustees of CGFNS International, Inc., congratulated Dr. Shaffer on this momentous occasion and remarked that “We are very proud of Dr. Shaffer and we are honored by his achievement. It is most fitting that his global work on nursing education and practice has taken him to Ireland to be recognized. Dr. Shaffer’s Ad Eundem Fellow award will continue to inspire us to advance the nursing field for the improvement of the quality of life for all. “
Dr. Shaffer holds a doctorate of education in nursing administration, a master of education in nursing administration, and a master of arts in nursing administration and adult health from Teachers College, Columbia University. His nursing career spans a period of 50 years in a variety of leadership roles of increasing responsibility in advancing human resources for health, both locally and globally.
