Lauren Herckis, PhD

Lauren Herckis joined the Institute from the faculty of Carnegie Mellon University, where for seven years she led interdisciplinary research efforts focused on evidence-based practice for using emerging educational technologies across diverse cultural contexts. A Fulbright recipient, her work has also been funded by the National Science Foundation, the Institute of Education Sciences, the R.K. Mellon Foundation, the California Education Learning Labs, Carnegie Corporation of New York, the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, and the Hillman Family Foundations. Before joining the Institute, she worked with the Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR), the Center for Health Equity Research and Promotion (CHERP) at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and the University of Pittsburgh’s Center for Teaching and Learning
