China Health is available to assist you with questions regarding your application. Please contact China Health for assistance. Once you submit your application, no further edits can be made. If you need to make a change of any kind, including your email or contact information, you must send a letter to inform China Health of the change.

Required Documents

  1. One copy of your nursing school diploma*
  2. One copy of your government-issued nurse registration document
  3. One copy of the China Health Information Form. Please login to CGFNS Connect to download and print this required form. On this form, please also provide your Ministry of Health password for license verification and Ministry of Education password for transcript verification.
  4. One copy of your personal identification card
  5. A passport-style photograph. The technical requirements of your photograph must be a JPG file-type, less than 5 MB, square and in full color. Read more information about submitting a passport photo by clicking here:

*If you are submitting a photocopy of your nursing school diploma, CGFNS International will only accept a clear copy for verification. In the event that the institution from which you graduated no longer exists, China Health will assist by contacting the proper authority (for example, the provincial department of health or education) to request official verification of your attendance.

  • Documents submitted for the exam are the property of CGFNS International and they will not be returned to you (even if you do not pass the exam).

Verifying your Documents

China Health will notify applicants by mail of the following:

  • Receipt of documents
  • Verification process results (by phone or mail)
  • Whether exam eligibility requirements have been met

Once your application is complete and all required documents are verified, you will receive an Authorization To Test (ATT) notification.

Fee: $350 USD

This fee includes:

  • Verification of license and transcript documents
  • The CGFNS Qualifying Exam
  • ISPN certificate for exam passers

CGFNS International No Refund Policy: Before you apply to the ISPN Program in China, please be aware that CGFNS International has a “no refund” policy. Even if you do not meet the eligibility requirements, this policy is enforced. Please keep this in mind prior to submitting your application.

About the Exam

Exam Format

The CGFNS Qualifying Exam® is an Internet-based, objective-format exam. Questions utilize a multiple choice or a multiple selection format. The exam will take 3 hours (about one minute per question). All questions have been designed by subject-matter experts. The goal of the exam is to test basic nursing knowledge and concepts.

On the day of the exam

On the day of the exam you need to bring:

  • Your Authorization To Test (ATT) letter
  • Two (2) forms of ID

After the exam

Approximately two weeks after taking the exam, you will be able to access your scores through the CGFNS Connect system.

After you have successfully passed the CGFNS Qualifying Exam®, CGFNS International will conduct a final review to ensure that all requirements have been met. Upon completion of this final review, your CGFNS ISPN Program Certificate will be issued. In the event you do not pass the exam, you should wait for China Health to contact you regarding next steps.

Exam cancellation

If an extenuating circumstance arises due to an unforeseeable event, a decision will be made by CGFNS International in consultation with China Health. Applicants will then be notified.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I participate if I passed the China nurse licensure exam but I am still waiting on certification?

Yes, you may. If you graduated this year and you passed the licensure exam, you can use your score report to participate.

I am not licensed to practice nursing in China yet. Am I able to participate in this exam?

Yes, you may.

  • If you have graduated prior to 2013, you must provide the license certification
  • If you are in the process of obtaining license verification, you must request that the unit responsible for issuing this license provide verification with an authorized seal

I previously applied to the ISPN Program in China. Do I need my nursing license verified?

Yes, you will still need to mail all the materials to China Health for verification. You will learn about whether you meet the requirements via mail or phone shortly after.
