VisaScreen^® Streamlined Certification Process

About the process and who is eligible

IIRIRA also authorizes CGFNS to perform a streamlined process for applicants born outside of the United States who received their entry-level professional education in the United States. This health care worker is exempt from the educational comparability review and English language proficiency examination. CGFNS/ICHP will require that the school send a graduation verification with the official school seal and signatures. Nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech language pathologists and audiologists qualify if their U.S. education program was accredited by the following:

• Nurses who have graduated from an entry-level program accredited by the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education or a nurse educated outside the United States who then completes an Associate Degree (AD), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or combined Bachelors of Science (BS)/Masters of Science (MS) degrees from an accredited U.S. nursing program. The graduation verification must carry the official school seal and signatures.
• Occupational therapists who have graduated from a program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education of the American Occupational Therapy Association.
• Physical therapists who have graduated from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education of the American Physical Therapy Association.
• Speech language pathologists and audiologists who have graduated from a program accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in audiology and speech language pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

Apply online at https://www.cgfns.org/cerpassweb/intro.jsp or complete the application in the VisaScreen^® Application Handbook from http://www.cgfns.org/sections/apply/download.shtml. When sending the Authorization for Validation of Academic Records/Transcripts to your school, let them know that you only require a statement verifying your graduation and that your transcripts will not be necessary.
