We ask that physical therapists applying for VisaScreen® certification request their schools to send a detailed syllabus or course description to CGFNS International in addition to an official transcript.
What is the educational credentials evaluation process for physical therapists applying for VisaScreen®?
- CGFNS will compare the educational records that are provided by an applicant’s educational institutions to the current requirements for the first professional degree in physical therapy in the U.S.
- We will determine whether the applicant’s education is comparable to that of an accredited physical therapy degree program in the U.S.
- Our evidence-based assessment uses the Coursework Evaluation Tool (CWT) established by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy or the CGFNS Education Comparability Tool (ECT). Both of these tools have been validated by the Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) as consistent with their criteria for evaluating physical therapy education.
